Where It All Began
Bay Area Legacy Gear was founded by lifelong Bay Area sports fans who grew up cheering for both the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. Like many in the Bay, we never understood why we had to choose between our teams when game day came around.
The idea struck during a split-screen Sunday—49ers playing in the afternoon, Giants in a playoff race. We wanted gear that could represent both loyalties without changing shirts. That's when the ambigram concept was born.
An ambigram is a design that reads differently when rotated 180 degrees. Our signature pieces feature artwork that shows "NINERS" one way and "GIANTS" when flipped upside down. One design, two teams, all Bay.
